Biophilia Educational Program – An Introduction

This short video from the workshops held in Iceland in fall 2011 shows the activities and interdisciplinary nature of the Biophila Educational Program. The workshops, held for Reykjavik schoolchildren aged ten to twelve, were developed in collaboration with scientists from The University of Iceland, as well as music and science teachers from Reykjavik City Schools. The program is groundbreaking in its highly original effort to break up conventional teaching methods, and merges music and science together in a new and exciting way. A mobile Biophilia Workshop Toolbox based on the workshops shown in this video is currently on a three-year tour of all of Reykjavik City’s middle schools.
